Is marihuana legal for medical purposes?
Believe it or not, there are alot of people that have not realized that they can legally consume and cultivate marihuana in Michigan for medical purposes.
Although there are several qualifications that you must meet, like having a particular disease or ailment, but nonetheless, it is actually possible to have and use marijuana in Michigan legally.
So how do you do it?
Well, you have to get a Michigan Medical Marihuana recommendation from a licensed physician, first of all.
Simply put, if you really are in need of smoking marijuana, than that is now becoming the safest bet… as long as you are doing it in Michigan, or one of the other compassionate states that has lifted the local laws of growing and consuming the medicinal plants.
Do live in Michigan?
People that live in the state of Michigan now have another choice when it comes to sneaking around in bad neighborhoods or dark alleys with people that they really don’t know or are feeling weiry about. That’s right, they can now talk with a licensed physician at a medical marijuana clinic about getting a MMMA card.
There is a waiting period after you see the doctor for the recommendation, but all in all it is really not that difficult of a process, granted you are qualified via one of the illnesses or ailments that are listed in the Michigan Law (called Act I).
How Much Is It?
Like most other times that you see a doctor or physician, there are costs and fees involved. However, if you are a Medicaid recipent, you can qualify for lower “State” fees (only $25 vs. $100 without).
If you think about it, the actual fees involved are not that much when you weigh it all out. We think it is well worth it and believe that if you are over the legal age of 18 and in need, than you should really look into getting legal. And, by getting legal I mean getting your doctor recommendation and filing it with the Stage of Michigan to get the MMMA card.
Yeah, now they know you smoke the herbs, but at least you can forget about all the phobias on the local government level and not be so paranoid when you need to go get it. There are “legal” places to obtain your medicine if you do not decide to grow your own.
Although there are plenty of ways to grow your own, many people are finding it easier to leave the growing to the “green thumbs” and just pay them to grow yours for you. Actually, you’re paying them for the equipment, utilities and time it takes to grow and harvest. The nice thing about this is that it will probably be better than what you’d grow in your closet bucket anyways!
